The book ends by discussing the effect of human actions on the fragile environment that has been examined, and what the future may hold.

This title takes the reader on a journey up the trunk of a rainforest tree. An introductory spread reveals the tree's entire ecosystem with subsequent spreads concentrating on particular stages where different environmental conditions such as light, temperature, food, are explained. A small maps helps the reader locate where they are on the tree, and a field guide describes the plants and animals found along the route. The book ends with a look at the effect of human actions on the rainforest environment.
